Mirror Lake
The Saturday before Labor Day, Papa had the idea of going to Mirror Lake. Josh had been there as a scout when he was a kid, but I had never been. Our glorious day ended up being freezing and rainy, but it was soooooooo much fun. I'm dying to go back. I'm feeling a Spring camping trip. There was so much to see and explore. The girls had such a blast and couldn't have cared less about the weather.

Face Sandwich
Erin saw the idea of a face sandwich in a cookbook we have, and she really really wanted to make it. Her version was a "Monster Face"...
bread, peanut butter, cheese, pepperoni, fruit loops, frozen peas...

Haircut
Erin's hair was getting pretty long (and very tangly). We both decided it would be a good idea to cut it short. She usually does awesome. This time, it was a different story.
She really did love the way it turned out.

Erin and Anna (It needed a post of it's own.)
Our first breakfast at Family Odyssey, Erin met Anna (from Frozen). We were standing in line, and Erin gets super excited and says, "Look! There's Anna!" We look a bit in front of us and there is a lady with long red hair. Then, while we are eating breakfast, Erin notices that "Anna" is sitting at our table a little ways down. She gets sooooo excited and keeps saying "Mom, it's Anna!" I asked her if she wanted to go meet Anna, and she says "Yes!" We walk over and have the following conversation...
Me: "Excuse me." (She was eating breakfast). "My daughter would like to say 'Hi' to Anna."
Anna: "Who?"
Me: "Anna from Frozen."
Anna: "Oh! (turning to Erin) Hi Sweetie! What's your name?"
Erin is star struck and frozen (very punny haha). She doesn't say a thing and just stares at Anna.
Me: "Her name is Erin."
Anna: "Hi Erin......."
We go sit down and Erin can't stop talking about how she just met Anna. She is beside herself with excitement. So, we spent the rest of the week looking for Anna. Lucky for us, the camp wasn't that big and we saw her multiple times a day.
My favorite moment had to be at lunch one day. With the busy and exhausting schedule, the girls were usually tired and grumpy on the trek up to lunch. We got to the lodge (Josh hadn't gotten there yet). Erin had reached the end of her rope and was sitting at the table sobbing. I was standing in line close by to get food for the girls. I turn around, and Anna is squatting down next to Erin and starts talking to her. Erin got a HUGE smile on her face and was happy until I was able to get food in her little body.
"Anna" sightings were such a fun addition to our week. Thanks so much, Daphne, for playing along. You made a little girl's life. She will be talking about it for years.
