Blizzard of 2010

We were slated to get this HUGE Blizzard last night. This morning we awoke to an inch or two of snow. Josh's work closed for the day in anticipation, so it was nice to have him home. Hailey was so excited to play in the snow and wear her new Tinkerbell snow boots. There wasn't much to play in, but there was enough for a few snowballs, snow angels, and making piles...





We are excited for more snow, so we can bust out the sleds and snowshoes.

We had our pictures taken with Josh's side of the family. It was freezing outside, but I think everyone had a fun time. Thanks Ashley for taking our pictures.

Her Love for Skeletons has Backfired...

Hailey is so intrigued by skeletons. It's the craziest thing. Well, now it's coming back to haunt her. A couple of weeks ago, she told me she had a bad dream and there was a skeleton at her window trying to get her. Poor thing. I felt so bad. Well...since Tuesday she has refused to sleep in her bedroom because she is scared of her window.

Tuesday, she slept on her mattress on our floor.
Wednesday, Josh laid next to her on her floor until she fell asleep.
Thursday, she did okay going to sleep, but ended up in our bed at 3:30am.
Tonight, she refused to stay in her room, so she fell asleep in our bed.

Poor thing.

We got her a night light. We leave the big light on until she falls asleep. We looked out her window to see nothing there. We are kind of at a loss of what to do. Any ideas?

From Foe to Friend

This summer, we started spending quite a bit of time with our next door neighbors. Paislee is 1, and for some reason Hailey detested her. It was the funniest thing. Whenever she saw Pais, she would have a cosmic meltdown. Then, we went on vacation. I guess in this case "distance makes the heart grow fonder." We got home and suddenly Paislee was an exciting playmate. Now Hailey is excited whenever she gets the chance to play with Paislee. Whenever anyone knocks on the door, she says "It's Plaisee!" Here are some cute pictures of them from when we watched Paislee one morning.

Halloween Festivities

Instead of carving pumpkins this year, we opted for painting. I can't remember the last time I painted a pumpkin, it was a lot more fun than I expected (because I do love carving them).
Last week, the Young Women at church put on a carnival for the primary kids. Hailey had tons of fun, though she didn't really know what was going on. Then on Saturday afternoon, our neighborhood had a "Trick-or-Treat Lane" for the little kids. It rained, sprinkled, and poured...but people still came! Thanks everyone for showing up. It was short and sweet, and the kids had a blast.
