Tree Climbing

There is a tree close to our house that all the kids like to climb. Hailey wants to climb it so badly, but she's not quite big enough. One evening when Josh got home from work, she asked him to get a rope and help her climb the tree. He did even better! He got out her harness and set a rig up on the tree. She climbed and swung for an hour or so and thought it was the greatest.  Erin enjoyed crawling around in the grass and eating sticks.

Hailey's Birthday Celebration!

Hailey was so excited when she woke up and I told her it was her birthday. Birthdays are one of her favorite things. Whenever it is anyone's birthday, she gets so excited and wants to party. In the morning we let her open her gifts from us and out of town grandparents. Then, later that evening we had a party of cupcake decorating and water fun.

Everyone had tons of fun (at least it seemed like it) and Hailey got totally spoiled. She's now talking about when she turns 5.

Happy Mother's Day

Little Wild Horse Canyon

For my birthday extravaganza, Josh had the idea of going down and hiking Little Wild Horse Canyon. I was so excited! I've been wanting to do it for a while. I had heard that it was gorgeous and kid friendly.

We made it into a day trip. We left in the am and got there just before lunchish. It was crazy crowded. Apparently it is the most popular canyon in Utah (probably because it is gorgeous and kid friendly). But even with the crowd it was amazing and so much fun!

Hailey did so good. We hiked 3 hours in and Hailey hiked about 99% of that. (Josh just had to carry her through some tight spaces where people were waiting for us to get through.) Then Josh carried her out most of the way (it took about a hour).

Erin was such a trooper. She was in the backpack for 4 hours with one 5min break and one 20min break. She loved it and only slept for 30min or so. People kept commenting on how good natured she was.

Ponytail

Erin's hair is getting longish, so I thought I'd try and put it in a ponytail. When I did, she looked totally cute. Then I took a picture of it and in the picture it looked weird. It was rather strange. I kept on that pattern for a while....cute in real life...weird on camera. Thus, the ponytail lasted about 10min. Maybe I'll try again sometime soon.

Funny ponytail or not, that is one cute baby.

An Unexpected Friend

There's a little boy on our block a little older than Hailey, named Axel. As long as we've lived here, he's been a challenge. He has always been very aggressive towards other kids, takes things that aren't his, and just causes a ruckus when he's outside. Until recently...

The past few weeks, Hailey and Axel have been playing so well together. It's been cute to watch them. Whenever we are outside he always shows up and is excited to play. Every once in a while he does something he shouldn't (as does every 4yr old), but whenever I tell him something or tell him not to do something he is very promptly obedient. Seriously this kid has done a 180. I'm glad he has become a new playmate with the kids on our loop, instead of the kid to run from.
