Spry Canyon

Last weekend, Josh went down with some guys to do Spry Canyon in Zion National Park. It took them 7 hours to get through. Randall dislocated his knee and then passed out, almost falling off the cliff. Other than that, no injuries or accidents.

It was Awesome!!!

I love baseball. I don't really like to watch it on tv, but if I do, my favorite is the Little League World Series. A few weeks ago, we found out that Josh's cousin Justin (from Washington) was going to be in the Little League World Series, and.....it is taking place in Murray, Ut! I was so excited when I found out that we could go. So last night we made a family event out of it and it was AWESOME!!! I really can't explain how excited I was. It was great.

The game didn't start until after 9pm, and I was a little worried about Hailey being up so late....I was hoping she would just fall asleep. Of course she didn't, but she was so great. She had such a blast. She ate food, danced to the music, and cheered when everyone else did.

We sat right behind home plate with Josh's family and aunt and cousin. It was a fun time visiting with everyone and watching the game.

Hailey likes fry sauce. She kept dipping the fry and sucking the sauce off.

Yummy hot dog.

YAY!!

When the team came out, everyone stood up and cheered.
Hailey thought everyone was cheering for her.
She was so excited.

Some action shots of Justin. He is #5, the catcher.

Happy Birthday Josh!

Yesterday was Josh's birthday! Yay! Lucky him...he had jury duty. Luckily things were resolved before too long and he didn't have to spend all day at the courthouse. Last night his family came over for some treats. Josh isn't a big cake guy, so instead of cake, we had tater-tots. I was going to write "Happy Birthday" in fry sauce, but it didn't work out quite right. Then, when I put in the candles, I realized that when you put candles in hot tater-tots...they melt...so we just went with one candle.

Ready for jury duty & checking out his new shop-vac.

I made him blow out the candle twice because in the first picture I just got the back of his head.

Happy Birthday Babe! We love you!

Dancing with Friends

Yesterday afternoon Jaron and Noah came over to play a little bit. Jaron kept playing the radio on Hailey's little dashboard toy and they would dance around the room. It was adorable and hilarious. They had such a blast. Hailey was so excited.

I love that face.

Words Confused

Hailey is definitely a talker. She is learning words so fast and actually relating them with things. Her newest word is probably "elbow." For the most part, she knows what things are, but there are a few things that she has confused or can't quite get right.

"Hot"

So one day I tried to teach Hailey what "hot" is. I put her hand on something warm and said "hot." We repeated it a few times. Now she goes around and touches everything and says "hot." We haven't quite figured out how to break that yet. We tried going between something hot and cold, but still...everything is hot.

"da butt"

Instead of saying "bug" she says "butt." I think she just can't really say bug. But it is soooo funny. The other night we were outside and there was a bug on one of her toys, and she kept saying "da butt" "da butt." We just laughed and laughed.

"Hippo" & "Happu"

Hanging Out with Dad

The other afternoon Josh set up his camping hammock out back. It is so comfy and relaxing. And of course Hailey likes to use it as a swing.

My Mom's Got Skills

So when I was about Hailey's age, my mom used to sew a lot and made me some really cute outfits. Last time we were in VA we brought some of them home for Hailey. She is finally big enough for them. Here is the dress she wore a couple of Sundays ago. It is sooo cute, there is no way I could do that.

I have a sewing machine, and want to be able to sew, but whenever I come up with a simple project, I get frustrated and vow to never do it again...I guess it's not in my blood. But I will probably keep torturing myself, because for some reason I feel like I should sew things.

Camping at the Lake

A couple of weeks ago we went to Lincoln Beach for some camping. Uncle Sam and aunt Kristen came with us. It was a fun time. We had planned to camp and then spend all day Saturday playing in the lake, but when we got up in the morning it was crazy windy and cold. But we still had a good time.

Light Painting

A couple of years ago, Josh heard about a photography technique called light painting. It is pretty awesome. You take long exposures at night and "paint" your subject with flashlights and such. It is a lot of fun. We have messed around with it a bit at home, but a couple of weeks ago we decided to go out and see what we could do. We found this abandoned train with a bunch of graffiti on it. Here are a few of the shots we got.
