First Steps
Monday, Hailey took her first steps. It was awesome. She has been so close for some time now, and the day finally came. Josh was home from work, so we both got to see the first steps. It was so exciting! Since then she will take a few steps here and there, but she tends to keep stepping with the same foot, so she starts going in a circle. Funny girl.
Magical Magnets
About a month ago, Hailey discovered magnets. She thinks they are pretty great, and she often spends some time in the morning taking them off and putting them on the refrigerator.

Chatter Box

Hailey is getting to be quite the little chatter box. She talks all day long, mostly jibberish, but she is actually starting to get some real words out. Some of them we can't understand at first, and then we are shocked when we finally figure out what she is saying. At first I thought, "we are just hearing what we want too," but after watching and listening, she really is saying things.
Her favorite is probably "woof," everything says "woof", except for the fish and it blows (she has a squirty fish bath toy).
The list:
dada
mama
yay!
woof
chis = cheese (her very very favorite food)
soos = shoes
ish = fish
wu sa = what's that
dis = this
hi
hewa = hello
Hay ee = Hailey
She doesn't speak on command, so you just have to listen close.
She's a fun one.

Bubbles Bubbles All Around
Oh the joy bubbles can bring, just look at this face...

Grandma and Grandpa Gubler got a bubble machine. Yesterday we went over for a visit, and had some bubble fun. We took lots of pictures of her making the funniest faces. She had a blast, and loved watching the bubbles float around her. She thought they were the most miraculous things.

By the end, the floor was very slippery and Hailey was covered in soap, but it was such a blast.

Happy Easter
Easter was great. Religiously and commercially, it is my favorite holiday. The past couple of years we haven't really done much because it was just the two of us, but now that we have Hailey, we can celebrate a little more. It was so much fun putting together her basket and getting things ready. We didn't do eggs this year (we figure the interest just isn't there yet), but we did have a basket with some fun surprises.
Checking out her basket -- the wiffle balls where a hit.
Discovering the wonders of crayons--her first attempts at coloring, not too shabby.
She loves her touch and feel book from Pop-pop and Grandma Debi.
Our precious Ladybug. -Thanks Peaches and Pops.

Teeth You Can See
So, Hailey's 2 teeth are in rather well now, and she actually moved her tongue out of the way in this picture. So, I thought we'd show them off.
And, if you think the hat is cute...which it is, check out our friend's etsy sight the Blooming Button. This is also Hailey's modeling debut.

Update
Hailey is growing so fast and doing new things every day. I thought it was time to share some of her new activities.
She can stand up without holding on to anything. When she does, you can tell she is so proud of herself. Sometimes she gets a little too excited about it and topples over.
She has figured out how to put the stars on her stacker toy. Often time she will clap after she gets one on.
She likes to help unload the dishwasher.
She loves doing tongue tricks.
She has figured out how to turn the stereo on and off.
She still crawls on her hands and feet, and every once in a while she will look back under her legs...it is adorable.
Dad has also taught her how to throw balls, and she loves throwing balls down the stairs.
