Gobble Gobble Day!

As Hailey and I went to get breakfast ready, I told her it was "Turkey Day." She thought I said "Cookie Day", which made her pretty excited.

We spent Thanksgiving Day in Springville with Josh's family. We cooked, ate, played video games...it was pretty great.

Our food contribution consisted of a Pumpkin Apple Curry Soup, which turned out to be pretty good, and some mini candy apples. The apples were a lot of fun to make and turned out really cute. We made the apples Wednesday afternoon and Hailey was a big helper.

Last year we played over eight hours of Guitar Hero. This year it made an appearance, but we also played some other Wii games.

Kelcie - Beatles

Me - Beatles

Olin - Beatles

Sam - Frisbee

Josh - Wakeboarding

Kristen - Wakeboarding

Some people from Jeff's ward came over - Playing Super Mario

Here are some more pictures from the day...

We hope everyone had an awesome Thanksgiving.

Goodbye, Bottle

So we decided to say goodbye to the bottle. We figured going cold turkey would be the best approach. A couple of days ago, Hailey and I went to the store and I told her she could pick out the sippy-cup that she wanted, that it was just for milk, and that she wouldn't have bottles anymore. She shook her head and picked out an awesome Elmo sippy set (of course the most expensive). She was pretty excited about it. I didn't think she really understood the deal, but maybe I would get lucky. Well, when we got home, she asked for some milk. She watched me put it in her new sippy and then when I handed it to her, she lost it. As I explained "no more bottles" she pretty much had the largest fit of her life. She didn't want anything to do with the sippy. I thought maybe taking her picture would calm her down...

It didn't work. She was pretty upset. Though I have to admit, the pictures of her bawling are adorable. She finally calmed down, but still didn't want to have anything to do with her sippy. Later when Josh got home, he somehow got her to take it. It was pretty awesome. So now we are in day two of no bottles and Hailey is doing pretty well. Sometimes she forgets and whines a little bit when we hand her a sippy of milk, but if we leave it alone, she will eventually pick it up and sip away.

Such a big girl.

Our Baby is 18mo Old!

Today Hailey turned 18mo old. I can't believe it. Nursery, here she comes. Church is going to be awesome. haha. Lucky for us, Hailey loves the nursery.

We went to the doctor today for her check up and here are her stats..

Weight: 25lb 15oz
Height: 30.5in

On Tuesday we took her to the doctor because she was sick and the doc ended up giving her all of her vaccines because he didn't think they would have the H1N1 left today. So, today, when we walked into the room and I set her on the little bed, she started screaming. Poor kid. But luckily, not shots today. The doc says she looks great.

Now for the 18mo Hailey update...

She loves, loves, loves to read. Most of the time she wants us to read to her, but sometimes she wants to read to Elmo.

She likes to help out with chores and is a great helper.

One of her new favorite activities is hanging on things. She has a good grip.

A couple of months ago, Hailey got her first real experience in a theatre. She was so cute running around. She got totally worn out.

There are a couple of videos she likes to watch: Elmo & Bear in the Big Blue House.

She loves to play with Daddy. This picture is of them spinning on our office chair.

She likes to use her crib as a trampoline.

And, she loves to play in the leaves.

Really, I could go on for pages. Hailey's loves: dancing, singing, swinging, talking, pushing things, chores, babies, stuffies, pillows, shoes, friends, bananas, marshmellows...Hailey's disloves: vegetables, getting her teeth brushed, diaper changing, vegetables.

She's so much fun. We love her dearly. One last picture just for fun...

Recent Photo Shoots

The past month we have done a couple of photo shoots to add to our portfolio...that is if we had a portfolio. We have been more interested in portraits lately, so it was nice to have a little bit of practice.

The first shoot was for our neighbor Nicole. She makes these really adorable hats and sells them on Etsy. You should totally check them out: Blooming Button
I took pictures of her cute boys wearing the hats and these are some of my favorites...

We wanted to get a picture of Tave looking through the fence like Weston, but, as you can see, he stuck his whole face in the hole. It was hilarious and adorable.
It was freezing outside and the boys were good sports. They are such cuties, it was fun shooting them.

The other shoot we did was of Hailey's little friend Nathaniel. He just had a birthday and his mom asked us to do his 2yr photos. It was a lot of fun. He is a runner and we chased him all around trying to get some good pics. Here are some of our favs...

He is going to be a little heart breaker.

Halloween

Hailey started out Halloween giving her pumpkin a ride on her train. She thought that was pretty great.

Later in the afternoon, we had a neighborhood trick-or-treat party for the little kids and it was lots of fun. Everyone was super cute and we had a blast. Hailey was a cute ladybug.

Then in the evening we had a handful of trick-or-treaters and Hailey thought that was awesome. She loved answering the door and telling everyone "Hi."

Here are some pictures from our neighborhood party.
