Christmas Day

Hailey was so excited Christmas morning. We hadn't set out any presents before Christmas so that she wouldn't open them while we weren't looking. So, she was soo excited when she saw what was under the tree and then thought that everything was from Santa. Of course after she opened her first gift, she wasn't interested in opening any more. She just wanted to play. It took some coaxing, and a stop for breakfast, before we got everything opened.

so excited

"hmm...which one.."

For some reason she kept saying, "I just need to cry for a minute." Then she would put her head down on the couch. We soon discovered that she was really hungry.

She had a cupcake while waiting for breakfast.

All Hailey really wanted from Santa was a blue marker. Thankfully, he came through.

For the second year in a row, we held our "Birthday Party for Jesus." Hailey was so excited about it (I think it was the prospect of cake). Some of Josh's family came over and we had a fun time....ate bbq, played "pin the tail on the donkey," sang some Christmas songs about Christ, and read The Littlest Angel. I didn't feel super prepared because Josh and I had been sick for a week and were still sick. But, we still had a fun time. Hopefully as Hailey gets older, she will be excited about learning about Jesus, as well as eating cake.

Hailey refused to wear a blindfold. So, Papa wore one and she told him wear to put the tail...she won.

Snow Play

So we finally got lots of snow. Our 10min tromp in the snow turned out to be almost two hours filled with a snowball fight, making a giant snowman, and pulling the neighborhood kids around in a sled. And, of course, Hailey's favorite past time in the snow.....eating it. We all had a blast.

Grumpy Alligator

One of Hailey's favorite past times is to "play with bubbles." We fill the sink up with water and bubbles, and she plays with her bathtub toys in it. She will do it for about an hour at a time. Her animals talk to each other, play games, etc.

Well, today, she wanders out of the bathroom a little pouty...

Me: "Hailey, what's wrong?"

Hailey: "The alligator said I couldn't play with bubbles anymore."

Me: "Did you tell the alligator that your mommy said it is okay for you to play with bubbles?"

Hailey: "No."

Josh: "What did you say to the alligator."

Hailey: kind of frustrated "I didn't say anything!"

Me: "Sweetie, you can go play with bubbles if you want to. The alligator is just being grumpy."

Hailey: "No. The alligator said I cant."

O Christmas Tree

Last night we finally got our Christmas tree decorated. Hailey was a super helper this year with all the lights and decorations. We especially loved some of her ornament placements.

Trying to find the one light that was out...

Since watching Rudolph, Hailey is convinced that a star needs to go on top of the tree. She was so excited to add the last touch.

Hailey has a little tree in her room, which she loves. We even made the ornaments.

The anticipation of Christmas has been so fun this year. Hailey is so excited about all the decorations, lights, etc. It's been fun to watch her. I will have to post Santa in a few days after we get her Santa picture back.
